DEBUNKING THE MYTH OF MANKIND, DEVELOPMENT AND THE GREAT FALL (Pt. 1)

Hello Everyone...

Firstly let me apologize for my long hiatus from writing. The need to find purpose, zeal and drive in any and everything you do is needed for longevity and continuity. That is something like what I have been doing. Anyways I hope your weeks have been great? I just concluded a 21-day fast in my church and the spiritual invigoration cannot be over-emphasized. Fasting and prayer like my spiritual father Bishop David Oyedepo will always say is not punishment but 'Spiritual Discipline'. It weakens your body, dissipates cravings of the flesh but empowers you Spirit man. It was an exciting encounter and in the morning of the first day after the fast, I forgot to eat! :)

Anyways to today's topic, I will be explaining some commonly misunderstood Bible stories, revealing some major Biblical mysteries and debunking a few myths. It would be a two or three part series, all depending on the leading of the Holy Spirit. So without further ado let us begin.

THE GREAT FALL, MANKIND & DEVELOPMENT
For basic understanding I will give a brief introduction to the 'Great Fall'. It is believed that the Earth has been in existence for a couple billions of years and man-kind, a couple million. God decided to make man 'in His own image' after 're-creation' of the World then He put man in charge of everything in the Garden of Eden including all plants and animals. God gave the first man and his wife (Eve) everything they needed and could ever ask for but told them never to eat of the 'Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil'. Fruits from this tree were later termed as 'Forbidden Fruit' by mainstream theologians because God forbade Adam and Eve to eat it, but the term 'Forbidden fruit' is not Biblical or from the Bible. Some days passed, probably weeks, months, years and Eve fell into Satan's trap to eat the fruit from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (Genesis 3:1-7). Painful is the fact that she also tempted (probably seduced) Adam into eating the fruit also. Not long after, God came down from Heaven in his routine visit  to Eden and discovered they had eaten the fruit He expressly forbade them to eat. Well He cursed everyone  and everything that was involved in this great treachery including man, woman, serpent even the ground was cursed! Well man and wife were driven from the Garden of Eden. This in summary if the Great Fall of man... from God's grace.

A great myth however surrounds the story of the Great Fall. It is believed by a majority that if Eve had not eaten the fruit man kind will not have developed up to where we are today! I asked a number of people and all of them concurred with this belief. However, my dear reader... the FACT is this - if Eve had not eaten the fruit of the Knowledge of Good and Evil we will be not where we are today in terms of development. We would be HIGHER! We would have reached the apex of civilization. We will all be as gods in our planetary system with super technological innovations, equal high standards of living for everyone. There will be no wars, poverty or suffering. It would have been Heaven on Earth. That was the original plan of God for this Earth... to be a second home to Him. Do you know that before the Great Fall God was visiting Adam and taking strolls with him in the Garden of Eden? This same God who 'no man can behold and live' was once a regular visitor on this Earth! I am now going to list and explain to you some factors that point towards the fact that we would be higher, bigger and better if man had not fallen.



1. God said MULTIPLY!  
In the beginning, God created the Earth and everything within it and He gave man three major instructions - Mulitiply, Replenish and Subdue the Earth! In Genesis 1:28 God said '...be fruitful, multiply and fill the Earth. These were the first ever instructions God gave to man and knowing that He is a faithful God who will not allow any of His words to fall to the ground, He will ensure that this mandate is divinely followed.  
Infact, researchers and theologians estimate that as at the time Cain built a city in Genesis 4:17, the descendants of Adam and Eve had entered close to 32,000 in the 100 years of their existence. You dont build a city with only 50 people! 
Backing this up is the fact that whether they fell or not, at one point or the other, Eve will have gotten pregnant and delivered babies! This is occasioned by God's use of the word 'multiply' when he was laying the curses on man, woman and serpent. Genesis 3:16 states 

To the woman He said, I will greatly multiply your grief and your suffering in pregnancy and the pangs of childbearing; with spasms of distress you will bring forth children...

In the 'confusing' world of mathematics, it is a known fact that you can't multiply nothing! 

0 X 1 = 0
0 X 1,000 = 0
0 X 1,000,000 = 0

It is an established FACT. Same principle applies here! Now let's break it down! God said 'I will greatly MULTIPLY your grief...' NOT create your grief. This means that at one point in time or the other, whether they sinned or not, Adam and Eve will have consummated, she will have experienced some little discomfort in the resulting pregnancy and will have also given birth with very little pains. It was multiplied because of her sins but also points to the fact she would have given birth and man would have multiplied on the face of the Earth. The same God who gave the mandate to multiply and put in place, procedures to see it through will have also provided wisdom for man to SUBDUE the Earth in order to take care of his family! Surely we would have been as developed than this...probably even more developed than we are now!

2. God said SUBDUE! 
When God told man in Genesis 1:28-30 to take everything in the air, land and sea and SUBDUE IT, He literally meant control, tame, overcome and overpower! God said subdue the fish of the sea - you are not going to catch enough fish for you and your descendants with sticks and stones! God said replenish the Earth - you are not going to cater for you and your thousands of descendants and at the same time replenish/replace your consumptions without having basic knowledge of large scale farming! Of course at a point in time, God will have giving man the wisdom and knowledge to follow the first instructions He gave at creation. God in Genesis 1:28 said 'multiply, replenish and subdue the Earth'. Not Eden alone! He said '...the Earth'. So do we really think we would have been able to replenish and subdue every creation in God's Earth with some notable technological advancements? God would have given us the wisdom to develop, to increase, to advance and to grow! He gave us wisdom even in our sin, is it now in our former holy states He will have not given it? Keep in mind that the subject matter is will we have developed to the level we are now if man had not fallen? 
If God has given us this much wisdom, knowledge and understanding to multiply, replenish and subdue the Earth in our sin, now think of what would have happened if we were still pure and He was walking amongst us! The age, advancement and development we will have attained would have been be EPIC!
